Four stories from Why Leopard Has Spots were selected by Book-It All Over! Repertory Theater Company for their 2002-2003 touring season in schools and libraries all across Washington state, and the production was so successful that the run was extended into the 2003-2004 touring season! Three talented young actors brought these tales to life as Mrs. Chicken outsmarted hungry Mrs. Crocodile, and Spider finally found out who was stealing his vegetables.

The Book-It tour package included a school assembly performance and an energetic, inspiring drama workshop for young students following the performance. The workshop focused on exploring and clarifying elements of the performance that the students had just seen. For example, students learned to sing a song in the Dan language, experimented with moving as Leopard, Crocodile and Chicken, and tried some African dancing.
